Are NO PRODUCT REVIEWS worst than negative reviews?
We have all been there, you are browsing a store online looking for inspiration and scrolling around product pages.
You use the collection filters to refine your choices, maybe even add a few products to your wish list and then you click to the product page and see it...
The NO PRODUCT REVIEWS message.... Has no one else bought the product or why has no one reviewed it?
How does it make you feel?
Customer use reviews as a reinforcement of trust and NO PRODUCT REVIEWS can harm this.
Even negative reviews allow you to show the customer you care, with some follow up comment and hopefully a solution to any negative feedback.
There are reasons you might have NO PRODUCT REVIEWS.
- Are you sending out your invitation to review before the customer gets the order?
- Are your emails going into spam - is your sending domain authenticated?
- Are you not approving reviews that are submitted?
If you have just started collecting reviews, consider hiding the Product Review panel until you have a volume of reviews to show, customers have tipping points over how many reviews are needed before they are trusted.
This ranges from 10 to 100 - depending on the product, price and what research you look at.
There are some situations that make it harder to get Product Reviews, for example you have limited stocks on products, maybe products with short seasonal life spans.
If this is the case, then focus instead on 'Service' reviews for your business over product reviews. Then you can show customers how good your services is from delivery costs and services to ease of checking out.
This will add more value, then NO PRODUCT REVIEWS
Service reviews can be collected in a range of ways, from the typical email post sale, TEXT, WhatsApp and even via social media.
